There appears to be a sequence to the letters on the rear of the first four series of tickets. The first series has an identification starting with the letter "A" in the lower right hand corner. The second series has the letters "AB", "BB" or "CB" in the same location. If we drop the first letter "A", "B" and "C" in this second series, the second letter in all cases is "B", which may indicate the second series of tickets. The third series has "A" "B" or "C" in a circle followed by the letters "C", "D" or "E". If we disregard the letters in the circle, the sequence continues on through "C", "D" and "E". Similarly, if we ignore the "A", "B", "C", "D" and "E" in a circle of the fourth series, the important next letters are "F", "G" and "H", which continues the overall sequence which started at "A" with the first series. The sequence is even continued on to the first series of "large arrow" designs in 1994 which uses the letters "J", "K", "L", "M" and "N". "I" was presumably not used to avoid confusion with the number "1".

It is not yet known which printer the "P" abbreviation stand for. The "NP" abbreviation may stand for "Norprint".
MTL is the Magnetic Ticket & Label Corp, Dallas, Texas.
